for a start the brushless motors are much more powerful than on previous models and the batteries more efficient than before.

torque on these scooters is also very high which makes it easy to start and accelerate on hills, previously torque was increased by increasing the current but this had a negative effect on the battery and consumed it rapidly.
on a 20% slope at full throttle the current is only 50a and develops 80nm of torque.
the other main advantage of these models is that while you go down hill the internal generator provides a charge to the battery, this also increases the range of the scooter.
